STASTATEMENT (Pernyataan)

1. Rudi said, “ I am a student. “
Rudi said that He was a student.
2. Bagong said to Limbuk, “ I like you. “
Bagong said to Limbuk that He liked her.
3. Bagong said to Limbuk, “ I liked you. “
Bagong said to Limbuk that he had liked her.
4. The students said, “ We are sad. “
The students said that they were sad.

COMMAND AND PROHIBITION (Perintah dan Larangan)

1. Bambang told to Ira, “ Help me, please! “
Bambang told to Ira to help him.
2. The Teacher said to the students, “Don’t put off your homework!”
The Teacher said to the students not to put off their home work.
3. Lia says to Rudi “Don’t love me, please!”
Lia says to Rudi not to love her.
4. The Teacher said, “ Open the door!”
The Teacher said to open the door.

QUESTION WITH ANSWER YES / NO (Pertanyaan dengan Jawaban Ya atau Tidak)

1. Mirna asked Didin, “Are you happy?”
Mirna asked Didin If / Whether He was happy.
2. Hermansyah asked Tia, Do you like me?”
Hermansyah asked Tia If She liked him.
3. Dini asked Doni, “Can you do your test?”
Dini asked Doni, If He could do his test.

Toni asked Nia, Whether She had come late the day before.
W-H QUESTION (What, When, Which, Why, How, How offen, etc)
1. Rudi asked to Mirna, “ Why do you like me?”

If we want to change direct speech to be indirect speech. We should counsider :
1. Asked, told, and said or thered → Past form
2. Simple present → Simple past
3. Simple past → Past perfect
4. Present perfect → Past perfect
5. Present continous → Past countinous

For Adverb :
- Tomorrow = the following day / the next day
- Yesterday = the day before
- Last night = the night before
Remember !
Says (dalam bentuk simple present (s/es) tidak ada perubahan tenses)
